Good afternoon Sainters..
Most of you will know Mel and Todd Rigby and their boys. They have had such a shocking year with Mel being in pain and feeling sick constantly.
She has also had a few falls and the last one was last week. She had a few stitches in her head and was sent home after Todd asked if she needed an Xray and was told no..
Todd has let me know that he has had to take her back to the hospital today to get her stitches out..
After 6 days of headaches the Dr has booked her in for a neurosurgeon to see her ASAP as it looks like she may have a cracked skull and bleeding on the brain.
She is doing ok and is still waiting for the surgeon to see her but can everyone please send her your best wishes, she has been through so much. Todd knows I am posting this so please don't think I am sharing their issues without their consent. So many people know and love Mel, so lets all send some positive energy their way. I'm sure it wont go astray... :-)
Will keep you updated. ... See MoreSee Less

Carrara Saints FCThanks everyone. Update is they are on their way home and thankfully there is no continuous bleeding. This is great news. Mel will be on heavier drugs for the pain and no driving for a couple more weeks. (So if you see her driving get off the footpath).. LOL13 hours ago

What an exciting day it was for Carrara today!!
4 of our youth teams battled it out for places in the finals today & while not all were successful the teams gave their all at Burleigh & Pac Pines. Firstly thank you to all the volunteers that helped for the games & a massive thank you to all the families & supporters who came out to cheer all the teams on whether you had players on the field or not.
Under 12's were first up for the day with an unfortunate loss to Burleigh - Full time score Burleigh 6.3.49 vs Carrara 4.1.25 they do have another chance at finals glory next week.
Under 13's took the field shortly after our 12's and were also sadly beaten by Surfers - Full time Under 13 Surfers 6.12.48 Vs Carrara 2.7.19 they also have another chance next week at finals.
Under 15's were next up & were beaten by 1 point after a very hard fought battle against Surfers during a game that went into extra time - Full time under 15s Surfers 56 - Carrara 55 they also get one last chance to make finals next week.
Lucky last were our Under 17's who were in an elimination final and after an extremely tough game came out on top & will also get another shot at finals next week - Full time Under 17s Carrara 6.9.45 vs Surfers 4.6.30
Make sure you get along to Tweed Coolangatta next week as all teams will be at the one venue.
Congrats to all our teams, coaches, volunteers & supporters, we want to hear you all cheering the saints on next week as we go into week two of finals footy #saintsfooty
