Want to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers over the last few weeks. Without you all chipping in to help with everything from game days set up to pack up, team management, first aid, canteen & bbq & all the bits in between to get teams to game days, we couldn't do it without you. Thanks also to those who have stepped up to fill roles due to last minute changes & just rolled with it without batting an eyelid, we need more like you & appreciate the help. We are always in need of helpers & if you see someone starting to get set up, ask if they need a hand as many hands make light work. Thanks again everyone, have an awesome week! ... See MoreSee Less
Tomorrow is $2 Tuesday at the club canteen. Thank you to everyone that has supported $2 Tuesday so far this season. Every little bit of fundraising helps cover bills & get much-needed equipment for our teams. Massive thanks to our volunteers that step up each week to help run $2 Tuesday as well ... Post Match Report Round 8... Carrara U 11s (59 pts) v Coolangatta U 11s (27 pts)
Very pleased today with all the boys across the field as they bounced back well from last week with a great 1st half of footy. However our game plan to keep our forward line open for a leading target was lost a bit in the 2nd half allowing easy access out of our forward line. An opportunity was given to some boys in different positions today and i thought they handled it well, Dusty, Damien, C Dogg and Budey really got amongst it and should be proud of their efforts. Our drive from the back line was significant thanks to Jay, Heath and Zac, allowing a quick transition creating open space which Jake C exploited well. Our ball use was fantastic providing many opportunities for our forwards such as Archie who presented well as did Noah whose kicking was exceptional. Hazza well done on your tagging effort on #14.
Congrats to Josh Clarke who received the Maccas award, he was also dynamic in the forward line kicking some great goals.
Good game today against a much improved Coolangatta team. Takes our season to 5W & 3L. I thought our first half was the best of the season with an excellent spread of contributors right across our team. Certainly the most consistent game for us in terms of handballs and kicks hitting targets to create some good passages of play. This lead to a good number of marks in each qtr. Cohen’s application at training on Thursday night showed today with an excellent attack of the footy. Other highlights - Arch presented well, Haz tagged no.14, Jay in defence, Noah at full forward, Eli’s handballing, Budey at fullback, Clarkee’s efforts in forward line, Luke’s aggression around the footy, Damien’s first goal, Dusty’s head over the footy, Pursee running into space, Zac’s tackling, Heath’s handballing, JC was my BOG - well done. we had 22 shots at goal to 7 reflecting our general dominance at the contest. Well done Sainters and well done Dean - good positional moves throughout.
Great game today boys 👏🏼
It was great to see the intensity back today & hearing you all talking to each other on the ground. Half time I loved hearing the boys cheer each other on and praising each other in the room - great team support. Quote of the day was from Damien 'I'm just so happy I got my first goal for my career' 🥰🤣.
Big shout out to Sally Clarke for being an awesome manager today, as I was unable to make game. I will be away again fromThursday to late Sunday this week, as Jay is playing 2019 Tri Series for Oztag - go The Barbarian!! Donna Kennedy (Hazza mum) will be manager for this game, thanks Donna Kennedy ;o)
Thanks to all the volunteers this week, Nick Olas Boundary Umpire, Adam Purss and Steven Graham for running water to the team, Scott Simpkin for Goal Umpire, Alisha Anne for her first time as First Aide Assistant and Sally Clarke for providing half time mandies.
