New recruit season 2019 #2

Sam Poke joins us from Tasmanian football club Circular Heads Giants (formally knows as Smithton Saints)

A permanent fixture in the Northern Tasmanian football league seniors, the 25 year old has racked up 80 seniors games to date.

Sam stands at 193 cmt (6ft 3) Sam plays key position both ends of the ground. But according to his former club, loves a goal or 2 so keep an eye out for him lurking around the front 50 ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sam moved to the Gold Coast last month for work opportunities, drove pass the club seen we where the saints and wanted to be a part of that.

We can't wait to see Sam next year in saints colours.

Please make Sam feel welcome.

* new recruit- 2019*

It is with great pleasure we introduce the first of our 2019 senior recruits.

Matthew Pearce Coming to us from QAFL Club Mt Gravatt, standing at just under 6ft 5 inch , the 24 year old Centre Half Forward/ Ruck brings a wealth of football knowledge and experience for such a young age, already having played 124 senior games, he became a senior premiership player at the age of 20. Since then has enjoyed 3 season with the blue and white, in which he was very reluctant to leave however the lure of coaching and mentoring our young group was too much to pass up.

playing in Darwin in the off season for division one club Tracey village as a Fifo recruit and having finished top 3 in their best and fairest from only 7 appearanceโ€™s last season speaks volumes of the influence he can have on a game, he comes to us to kick start his coaching career and will take on the role as senior playing assistant.

Pearcy is a south Queensland representative player. And plays his best when the footy is contested. We are extremely happy to secure the services of Mathew Pearce I am sure I can speak on behalf of the entire club and senior playing group in extending a very warm welcome to Pearcy and we canโ€™t wait to see him in saints colours in 2019.

A couple of shots of Pearcy in action from both Tracey Village and Mt Gravatt.

Ladies and gentlemen, the announcement to end all announcements (we were asked to open this post with that line)

This guy has re committed to the saints in 2019 , some say and I quote " this guy is so far above this division it's not funny" (photo as evidence someone actually said that).

Others say he is founder of top four enterprises.

Rumours even getting around he was robbed of best on ground in the 2018 decider (we are sure he started these rumours).

He's courageous and ridiculously attractive (this was needed to be said as part of negotiations)

We can't wait to see the Alex Rance of local footy back in 2019.

I can make it offical as of right now given the only requirements to his re commitment was that we said all of the above.

Can't wait to see Joey Lopez back in saints colours next year.
