Inspiration coming from Traralgon Football & Netball Club who recently paid tribute to some departing players, what a way for a club to show appreciation to guys that put it all on the line.
So that being said we thought it was only fitting to thank some of our past players.
tonight we start with premiership player Jordan Purcell, Purcey was a walk in that you often hear about, like a unicorn, no one ever really sees them but they are spoken about at every club. From day 1 Purcey was into everything, his infection and loud laugh, always smiling and first one on the track every single night, also the last to leave every single club function, Purcey has re located north side of Brisbane for work and has joined Kedron Lions for season 2019 - we wish you all the best, You will always be a Premiership player at Carrara saints-
Kedron make sure your stock the fridge once he drinks you dry of VB's the wild turkeys are in danger,
a valuable half back flanker who can change a game in 5 minutes I'm sure some clubs won't be happy he's sticking around to cause them headaches.
Our extended squad yesterday travelled to Coolangatta to participate in the Alpha pre season cup, format was 3 games consisting of 2 x 15 minute halves.
With 10 senior players and 20 reserves squad members making the trip, we left with some really positive notes.
Game 1 the boys played Tweed and came away with the win against a solid outfit who went on to cause some head aches through out the day, coming away with a narrow win, the boys started the day strong -
Game 2 vs Coomera Magpies
It was a story of 2 halves with the wind heavily favouring one end the pies jumped off the mark with a 4 goals to 1 first half before being reigned in with a 3 goal to nil second half. The boys had a shot on the siren to win but unfortunetly couldn't convert -
Game 3 - Vs Beenleigh Buffaloes
A predominate reserves team featuring a hand full of senior players really took it to the Young Buffs, leading for the most part, the boys really put in a solid 30 minutes only being over ran with a couple of minutes remaining - special mention to the 4 guys playing their first ever game of our great code of football.
Over all. Very well balanced mixture to work on some things before our final hit out next weekend.
Don't forget our men's teams are playing in a shorten version of the game at Coolangatta today - with 10 seniors and 12 Reserves players teaming up to play in 3 games, each game consist of 2x 15 minute halves.
