Matthew Lappin

Matthew Lappin has enjoyed a professional AFL playing career over 14 years at the top level. He played at St Kilda for 5 years and at Carlton for 9 years. Following his playing career he coached for 10 years at Carlton, Collingwood and the Suns. For the past 4 years he has been coaching in the 2nd tier national competition. As a coach at Hillcrest Christian College, he is involved in coaching of all age levels of boys and girls. He guided Hillcrest to win the Primary girls AFL state championships in 2019, reaching the semi-finals in 2020. He lives locally with his wife, 3 daughters and a son. He loves watching all sports and particularly enjoys playing golf.

Assistant Coach:

Cameron Suter

Cameron started playing AFL in Victoria for Heathmont FC before moving to the Gold Coast playing for Palm Beach-Currumbin, Burleigh and finally at Coolangatta. He has coached his son and daughter in both AFL and netball for the past decade. Currently, Cameron is a teacher at Hillcrest Christian College and is involved in the college’s AFL excellence program. He is passionate about introducing and keeping adolescents playing team sports.

Keryn Hammersley

Keryn Hammersley is a mum of three active kids who all play different sports. She has previously managed Soccer, Netball and Cricket teams as well as volunteering as administrator of a school band. Keryn is a big believer in the benefits of getting involved – in different community groups but particularly in team sports for kids of all ages. When not on the sidelines watching, Keryn works as a lawyer.
